Truck Fleet Tire Balancing With Balancing Beads

Properly balancing your fleet’s tires with balancing beads is the key to preventing extensive tread wear. Adding the inadequate amount of beads to your tires can lead to no balancing at all. Therefore, to have your tires adequately balanced and all the benefits that come with it, you should pay close attention to the tire and rim’s size.

At abc Balancing Beads, our beads don’t work as regular rolling balancing beads do. Ours possess a unique memory technology that stabilizes the beads in place in all wheel positions. Furthermore, we have developed a detailed tire balancing beads chart to help our clients know the right weight for their specific tire size.

Proper Beads Application For Better Tire Performance

Tire balancing through the balancing beads method requires knowing and applying the right amount of beads per tire. Having too many or too little beads won’t properly balance your vehicle. Thanks to the electrostatic charge that keeps our balancing beads in place all around the wheel, even when the vehicle is at a stop, you’ll experience:

  • Even tire-tread wear
  • Long-lasting tire life
  • Fuel economy
  • Lower maintenance costs

However, to enhance your fleet’s overall performance and be favored by the benefits mentioned above, applying the right amount of beads is necessary. Our tire application chart specifies the proper amount of beads that should be injected into your tires, taking into account the truck’s line of duty and the size of the tires.

Our Tire Application Chart Explained

Light trucks: Trucks that weigh 6000 lbs or less, we classify them as Class 1. Trucks weighing 6001 lbs to 10,000 lbs are classified as Class 2. According to the tire size, these types of trucks with such weight and rims measuring between 14 up to 24 require 4 oz to 6 oz of beads.

Delivery & Light Truck: Class 3 is for trucks with weighing between 10,001 lbs to 14,000 lbs. Trucks weighing 14,001 lbs to 16,000 lbs are classified as Class 4. These types of trucks also apply to the tire measure and rim size mentioned above.

Medium-Duty Truck: This classification includes trucks weighing between 16,001 lbs to 19,500 (Class 5), and Class 6 for trucks weighing 19,001 lbs to 26,000 lbs. The amount of weight applied with the beads varies between 8 oz to 16 oz, taking rim and tire size into consideration.

Heavy Duty Truck & Bus: This line of duty in trucks varies greatly when it comes to the tire and rim size. Some require 4 oz to 12 oz weight in balancing beads.
